PhD Stephen F. Austin State University, Forest Hydrology, 2005

MSF Stephen F. Austin State University, Forest Hydrology, 1997

BSF Stephen F. Austin State University, Forest Management, 1995

Classes Taught:

Forestry 409 - Forest Hydrology

Environmental Science 412 - Environmental Hydrology

Forestry 240 - Wood Science

Forestry 319 - Harvesting and Processing

Research Interests:

Dr. McBroom's primary research interests are in the effects of land management on water resources, and how to design land management activities to minimize potential impacts on water quality.  The Texas Intensive Silviculture Study (link: http://www.fri.sfasu.edu/pages/projects/alto/alto.html) is his primary research projects examining the effects of forest management activities like clearcutting and site preparation with best management practices.  He is also examining the dynamics of woody debris loading in the Sabine River, along with several other studies.
