We are proud of our Lumberjacks who competed in the 52nd Annual Southern Forestry Conclave and placed second overall in Conclave! The margin of victory was 1 point! One place higher in any one event and we would have tied or won. Because it was raining the entire time we were there, they
cancelled pole climbing which we had a good chance of winning because Aaron
Friar won last year. It did rain almost continuously from the time we
arrived on Thursday morning until we left late Saturday night. We had to
drive over half way both ways in the rain. However, the enthusiasm and
effort never waned. All of you would’ve been proud of the way our students
pitch in and help other schools, especially the way we helped the host
school. Next year the Conclave is in Arkansas. I will need your
assistance in selecting and training our best competitors.
Our students represented us very well and I hope you will join me in congratulating them.
